League Information Basics
League Time Frame
Players participate for a set period of time depending on the specific
promotion. For example, the winter 2007 WSOP league runs 12
weeks. However, some of our contests have been as short as 4 weeks
(Summer Poker Challenge '06).
Grand
Prizes - Entry to WSOP Events, WPT Events
WPT-Bahamas Fall 2006: The grand prize for the overall league champion
in the fall season won an expense paid trip to the Bahamas to play in
the Poker Stars Caribbean Adventure, an official World Poker
Tour event. The winner received a $12,500 package including
accommodations at Atlantis Resort
on Paradise Island in the Bahamas.
2007 WSOP/Winter-Spring 2007: Nebraska Poker League players will
have 2 opportunities to win a seat to the 2007 World Series
of Poker. Players qualify for the league championship by placing
in the top 20% of their league after 12 weeks. The final
tournament is scheduled for the middle of May and will take place at
Legend's Bar in Lincoln.
"Blast at the
Bellagio" Winter 2007: Players
compete for 6 weeks to qualify for playoffs. Overall winner receives $1,500
buy in to Five Star Classic event at the Bellagio on
April 13th, plus $1,000 for travel expenses, as well as $500 in spending
cash!
Scoring
Players earn points in weekly tournaments
by placing in the top 30% (each location has their own leaderboard).
At the end of the promotion, the top XX% players from each location will advance to the
playoffs. The qualifying percentage depends on the contest.
Usually it is set at 20%. An attendance bonus system rewards players just for showing up to encourage regular
participation. Scores are entered to the website standings.
Setup /
Supplies
Chips are provided. However, tables
are required and can be purchased at additional cost. We offer
wholesale rates to help our clients get started inexpensively.
Rules
Detailed rules will be provided. Starting chip
count, blind schedule, etc will be set by the league officials and
must be followed at
all locations for consistency and to keep the games fair.
Dealers
Players deal themselves. Keep in mind
this is FREE poker!
Advertisement
Posters are provided. The league
advertises the 3-4 times per year on various radio stations in Minnesota
to help kickoff new contests. However, we are unable to cover the
entire state adequately. Additional advertisement is highly
recommended to maximize potential.
Cost - Very reasonable!
We offer one LOW FLAT monthly rate for
participating in all of our promotions. We will also keep to our
commitment of adding more prize value AND lowering rates as our network of
bars grows.
Social Game
- Make It Fun!
The key to maximizing sales is to encourage
the games to be fun. Break the ice with small
prizes for first out, best hand, etc. Have a door prize to give
out later in the night to reward customers for sticking around.
Offer side games (prizes only!) to give losers an opportunity to play
more.
FREE
Poker - Legal?
As long as players do not have to pay anything to play (100% FREE), this type of
promotion is NOT considered gambling in the state of Nebraska.

The cost of sponsorship is reasonable and we will continue to strive to be

The magnitude of the Grand Prize(s) is the key and will draw a lot of
interest from players. The
league model promotes weekly participation, which is important. Promote your product, provide good service and you
should see a nice return on investment. We will help you every step
of the way.
